Description About the role CPBS is seeking an experienced full-time or part-time Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our forward-thinking and dedicated ACT team based out of our Canberra office. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you’ll report to the Regional Clinical Manager for our ACT region. You'll play a crucial role in conducting assessments, writing behavioural support plans and programmes, assisting with the implementation of plans and supervision of other practitioners. The work is based on the principles of Multi-Element Behaviour Support (MEBS) and Positive Behaviour Support for children and adults in the home, community, and school/workplace settings. What you'll do Make positive and distinct changes to the lives of others by developing and maintaining relationships Provide direct behavioural interventions in individual and group sessions Develop Functional Behavioural Assessments and Behaviour Analysis Support Plans Provide support and training to colleagues, caregivers support workers on clinical techniques Partner with varying professionals including doctors, psychiatrists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to develop and implement individualised client goals and checklists Adhere to legislative requirements regarding timely and accurate report writing and documentation Complete introductory IABA training in Non-Linear Multi-element Positive Behaviour Support Skills And Experiences What you’ll need A bachelor's degree and/or post graduate qualifications related to Positive Behaviour Support Hold or can obtain an NDIS Practitioner ID, NDIS Workers Screening Check and Working with Children Check. Proven experience as either a Behaviour Support Practitioner, Behaviour Analyst or Behaviour Therapist Ability to prepare and finalise technical reports in a timely manner, using high-level verbal and written communication skills Effective time management skills, managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
