The Opportunity This role will see you continue the organisation’s analytics journey as you join a forward-thinking finance team driving a major transformation from Excel-based processes to automated, integrated systems. This is your chance to shape finance and data systems in preparation for international growth. You will play a pivotal role in improving the organisation's data capabilities, supporting a high-impact merger, and working closely with finance and technology leaders. Immediate priorities include upgrading several operational and financial Power BI reports to support an upcoming entity consolidation. The project pipelines includes the design of new reports and leading the integration of sales data into the analytics environment. The Role As the finance data analyst, you’ll bridge finance and data analytics -modernising reporting processes and driving smarter, automated insights. Key responsibilities include: Migrating critical finance processes from Excel to automated systems Designing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards, upgrading existing reports, and developing new insights Managing database connections via ODBC and using M Language for API integrations (e.g., Pipedrive, Eralis) Improving management reporting and supporting finance transformation Collaborating with finance and future ICT teams to build scalable, data-driven systems Ensuring data accuracy and automation in financial processes, including cash flow forecasting and consolidations The Ideal Person You’re a problem solver with strong data skills who can deliver practical solutions and communicate effectively with stakeholders. You will bring a combination of: Ability to identify and implement automation opportunities in Excel-heavy processes Collaborative mindset with the ability to work alongside finance and technology leaders during a major business transformation Curiosity to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions Experience with Power BI, (they are currently using on premisis) Experience with database connections and inserting data into systems like HanaStudio Solid understanding of financial systems and processes, particularly in a fast-paced, scaling environment Your background could be: A data professional with strong finance/ accounting background A finance professional (Finance Systems, Management/ Financial Accounting) pivoting into data analytics A management consultant (Manager level or above) ready to move client-side and drive business transformation Due to the nature of this organisation Australian Citizenship and an existing clearance is mandatory. Salary / Rate This role is being offered as an initial 12-month fixed term contract with a view to extend / permanency, and a salary $140k - $160k Super.
