About the role As a Cyber Security Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of core security tools and processes. You'll help strengthen incident response capabilities, reduce risk exposure, and contribute to the development of secure-by-design systems across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities Manage and enhance the organisation’s security infrastructure (SIEM, EDR, firewalls, DLP, etc.) Lead or support investigations of security incidents and coordinate response efforts. Conduct regular vulnerability scans and support remediation planning. Assist in cloud security (primarily Azure/AWS) across applications and infrastructure. Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and compliance teams on secure system design and risk assessments. Help ensure compliance with key frameworks (e.g., APRA CPS 234, ISO 27001, NIST). About you To be successful in this role, you will have: 3 years of hands-on experience in cyber security engineering or operations. Strong knowledge of security principles, threat detection, and cloud environments. Experience with security tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Splunk, or Palo Alto. Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus. Financial services or regulated industry experience is highly desirable.
