You'll be working closely with an experienced Assistant Director, making this a valuable stepping stone to further develop your APS career. The Role Key responsibilities include: Undertaking financial reporting and internal budgeting activities related to the department’s Capital Budget Providing cost model inputs and sound financial advice Reviewing Assets Under Construction (AUC) balances and maintaining asset data integrity Monitoring and tracking capital NPPs (New Policy Proposals) and coordinating information for the external budget Movement of Funds process Leading coordination of the Agency Budget Submission and contributing to improvements in external budget tasks Contributing to and supporting the implementation of enhanced financial policies and reporting capabilities The Ideal Person You will have a strong understanding of budgeting principles within the APS and be familiar with the Commonwealth Resource Management Framework. You’re likely to come from one of the following backgrounds: Experience in a Big 4 or similar consulting environment working with federal government clients APS6-level experience in an internal or capital budgeting function, with stable tenure and a track record of success To be eligible, you must be an Australian citizen and hold a current Negative Vetting 1 or Negative Vetting 2 security clearance.
