Job Description SECURITY COMPLIANCE OFFICER - APS5 This dynamic Government department, is seeking an energetic and talented officer to coordinate security compliance and advice to our network of stakeholders in Canberra, State/Territories offices and overseas. You will be responsible for coordinating security compliance activities, and application of policies and procedures which protect the department from security risks and vulnerabilities in our global operation. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • Knowledge of the Australian Government’s Protective Security Policy Framework • Knowledge of the Departments' overseas network and environment • Experience with government records management and filing systems. KEY DUTIES An APS5 Security Compliance Officer is required to: • Coordinate and triage compliance assessments and enquiries that relate to workforce security arrangements and outcomes. • Manage a section mailbox and coordinate advice determinations and escalations. • Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support security policies and procedures, including reporting, records management (TRIM), and compliance activities. • Contribute to the achievement of Section and Branch objectives. • Support the Branch to deliver timely and consistent responses on policy compliance and security matters. • Contribute to reporting for DSD leadership on issues that may impact the Section or Branch. • Develop an understanding of legislation, policy, and regulations that support recommendations relating to security issues/policy. • Nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Other related duties as tasked or required.
