We are currently seeking an ITS Manager the next phase of a Fleet Information Environment (FIE) Modernisation program delivering a cyber-hardened, integrated, sustainable, and networked mission system that enables the Royal Australian Navy to 'fight and win at sea'. The aim of the FIE modernisation project is to deliver to Navy a suite of integrated ICT systems, applications and infrastructure (Minerva) that supports both deployed operations and day-to-day administrative activities, where ships and submarine crews are located. The ITS Manager will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to: Lead the Technical team tasked with delivering the Minerva system to the fleet. Manage and ensure the timely delivery of all technical deliverables and components for Naval deployed ICT systems, in alignment with the project schedule. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the proper engineering, sustainability, and operation of the ICT system. Offer guidance and support to Commonwealth leadership regarding the execution of all technical aspects of the project. Develop comprehensive strategies to achieve key deliverables, such as fleet deployment and transition into sustainment. Engage with vendors, customers, and external stakeholders as necessary to facilitate a seamless delivery, sustainment, and operation of ICT systems. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resource the technical team by participating in recruitment, interviews, onboarding etc. Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation to support current and emerging solutions. Required skills and experience: 10 years in ICT Leadership Management including overseeing and coordination of large technical teams in relation to design and architecture, delivery, configuration and support. 10 years of experience in architecting, designing and building multi-vendor geographically dispersed solutions. Risk Management Define and enforce relevant technical procedures and standards. Oversee developing future component architecture and migration plans. Expert level knowledge in areas including infrastructure, systems engineering, networking, security and system integration design. Ability to create high quality documentation and procedures. Ability to take requirements, standards and frameworks and apply in a practical application to future proposed designs and systems. Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with demonstrable experience of presentation and engagement with stakeholders, projects and business areas. Desirable experience Demonstrated experience in leading a technical team in designing, building and deploying enterprise ICT systems. Practical knowledge of Configuration, Asset, Incident, Problem and Change Management (ITIL V4 practices) Practical knowledge of Monitoring, Event and Service Level Management implementation (ITIL V4 practices) Capacity and Performance management (ITIL V4 practices) Knowledge management (ITIL V4 practices) Previous experience in SEA2273 Minerva would be highly desirable This opportunity can be based in Sydney or Canberra, the successful candidates will need a Defence industry background, ideally experienced in the Maritime domain.
