We are currently seeking a Delivery Manager for the next phase of a Fleet Information Environment (FIE) Modernisation program delivering a cyber-hardened, integrated, sustainable, and networked mission system that enables the Royal Australian Navy to 'fight and win at sea'. The aim of the FIE modernisation project is to deliver to Navy a suite of integrated ICT systems, applications and infrastructure (Minerva) that supports both deployed operations and day-to-day administrative activities, where ships and submarine crews are located. The Delivery Manager will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to: Lead the delivery team and foster a high-performing and resilient team of technical and non-technical staff. Establish priorities, scope, and requirements to deliver against an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). Create and maintain project plans, including timelines, milestones, and budgets, and provide regular progress updates to clients and stakeholders. Define and document project scope and resource requirements. Define and manage priorities against the available capacity of team members. Monitor project risks and issues and develop and implement mitigation strategies to ensure the projects stay on track. Provide governance and quality assurance of project deliverables (technical and non-technical), including oversight of project documentation. Manage client relationships and identify opportunities. Create a collaborative, innovative, and efficient working culture. Identify and consult with the SEA2273 Project Manager if additional or alternate resourcing is required when business requirements change. Delegate Business Systems Management activities to staff to build knowledge within the team and embed succession planning Required skills and experience: Experience in Project Management methodologies and delivery (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, Delivery Management). Experience in delivering large, complex technical projects on time and within budget. Experience working to Defence industry standards and legislation. Experience in working with Navy Platform capability managers, supporting SPO’s and ISSC’s would be highly regarded. Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with demonstrable experience of presentation and engagement with stakeholders, projects and business areas. Experience in commercial activities including managing budgets, developing proposals, and delivering commercial value to clients as well as an understanding of the Defence finance systems particularly in the areas of major project delivery Strong leadership skills, with experience in building and managing high-performing teams with a strong technical background managing engineering and infrastructure teams. Strong understanding of contracts and procurement and/or contract management functional knowledge, including working knowledge of complex programs such as ASDEFCON. Experience in delivering warfighting ICT capability to Navy such as would be highly regarded. Desirable experience: Experience working with SPOs and familiarity of the processes involved in delivering capability to Navy. A qualified practitioner with specific qualifications or industry training (Bachelors or above) or relevant industry experience of more than 10 years. This opportunity can be based in Canberra or Sydney, the successful candidates will need a Defence industry background, ideally experienced in the Maritime domain.
