We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Event Manager to work in-house at a professional association based in Sydney’s CBD. You will be a senior team member, managing and coordinating a range of both in-house and external events. The role: Our client is an established and well-regarded professional association, with a busy calendar of events- across a wide range of formats, including networking breakfasts and lunches, evening and full day seminars, webinars, forums, panels, conferences, and other flagship events including gala dinners. The Senior Venue and Events Coordinator is responsible for the end-to-end event support for all internal and external meetings and events under the guidance and support of the Venue and Events Manager. Project manage the planning and delivery aspects of both internal and external events including; coordination of briefs, timelines, event workflow, key milestones, reporting, deadlines and debriefs to ensure all events are delivered successfully. Set up and manage delegate registration, invoicing and communication via event software, CVENT. Source and coordinate all NSW venues and relevant event suppliers (AV, entertainment, theming, florists, and photographers etc). Maintaining an up-to-date internal database and sharing supplier intel with the team. Collaborate with the marketing and comms teams to coordinate email communications, invitations, agendas, web pages, microsites, collateral, post-event surveys and timelines. Excellent stakeholder management, fostering good communications and relationships between requisite departments to ensure overall aims of the relevant function goals are achieved. Act as a mentor for team members, demonstrating best practice behaviour and helping staff to achieve their professional goals. Facilitate coordination between building services, catering and IT resources so that the required function set-up for internal events is attained. Candidate profile: You will have a minimum of 4 year’s work experience in event management Demonstrated experience gained within a corporate or professional environment is highly regarded Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word & Excel skills, and event management software such as EventsAir or Cvent is preferred but not mandatory Virtual event experience is beneficial but not mandatory Excellent written and verbal communications skills You will have impressive interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships Excellent administrative skills and high attention to detail Good organisation, planning, and time management skills Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a small team with multiple key stakeholders Self-motivated with a proactive hands-on approach Salary & benefits: $90-100K plus super salary per annum for a fixed term 6-month contract Supportive and friendly team culture, with work from home flexibility 35 hour work week Professional training and development focus Potential for contract extension or transition to full-time THE MONDAY GROUP is a specialist recruitment agency and executive search firm for the events, experiential marketing, hotel & hospitality industries.
