The position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is to provide expert financial management advice, and strategic leadership for the organisation’s financial governance plans and forecasts in conjunction with ACARA Board and the Executive Leadership team (ELT) to ensure all financial, commercial, legislative, and regulatory aspects of ACARA are fully supported. About the position: Provide expert financial management advice and analysis to the ACARA Board, CEO and the Executive Director, Corporate Services and broader executive to enable informed, strategic financial decision making, budget development and management, and potential investment initiatives. Responsible for the management and delivery of ACARA’s finance functions including accounting and statutory reporting, management reporting, audit, taxation, financial operations, payroll and systems. In addition, will also lead finance input on strategy, governance and risk management. Direct the delivery of high quality strategic and operational financial performance reporting and analysis to underpin effective business planning, risk, forecasting, budgeting, cost reporting and resource management. Manage the financial operations and systems to ensure information is reliable and ensure effective cash management, investments, and controls over transactional processes. To be successful, you will have: Relevant tertiary qualification, full membership of a professional accounting body such as a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) and demonstrated knowledge of the Australian Accounting Standards. Substantial experience in providing high level strategic and operational leadership. Advanced financial modelling, analysis and reporting skills with an ability to extrapolate insights to drive business decisions. Extensive experience in financial accounting, forecasting, statutory reporting, and management accounting. For more information, please view our Position Description – Chief Financial Officer. ACARA offers an attractive salary package dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate, commencing at $192,004 base per annum, as a full-time equivalent (plus superannuation).
