Your New Role As the Senior Fund Accountant , you will play a fundamental role in ensuring the Fund Accounting team are able to support ongoing business critical tasks, strategic projects and change management. You will have exposure to the entire funds administration and management operations process and use your knowledge and experience to analyse processes and recommend streamlining and enhancements where applicable. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with our internal and external stakeholders to support the team managing Superannuation accounting, regulatory and tax functions whilst gaining exposure to our Managed Funds products. Key Responsibilities The Senior Fund Accountant is primarily responsible for supporting the Fund Accounting Manager – Superannuation in the delivery of all financial, tax, accounting and regulatory functions for our superannuation product. - Oversee reconciliation of third-party data and ensure reporting accuracy - Prepare management accounts, tax calculations, and reconciliations - Handle income and business activity statement lodgements - Manage APRA reporting and respond to queries - Coordinate audit and reporting processes with administrators, custodians, and auditors - Prepare year-end financial reports and assist with board papers - Monitor daily superannuation unit prices and cashflow transactions - Calculate and coordinate payment of management and administration fees - Ensure accurate tax rates in unit pricing and reconcile discrepancies - Develop and maintain a risk and control framework We are looking for someone with - A high level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills - Ability to work in a small team environment - Demonstrated interest and commitment to ethical and environmental issues - Alignment with values - Action, Authenticity, Empathy, Curiosity and Connection - A degree in Business or Accounting and CPA/CA qualified - Minimum of 5 years' experience in superannuation fund accounting and unit pricing - Demonstrated knowledge of superannuation taxation and financial statement preparation - Practical experience in preparation of APRA reporting specifically for Superannuation funds - Sound understanding of investment markets and the broader finance industry Why Australian Ethical? - We offer a competitive salary, including short-term and long-term incentives including access to an Employee Share Plan - Hybrid work arrangements - Wellbeing program that includes an extra 5 days of leave above statutory requirement - Purpose aligned volunteer days - 20 days paid annual leave with an additional 3 paid days of annual leave over the Christmas period Want to know more about what it's like to work at Australian Ethical?
