Their expanding SMSF division is a key pillar of this offering. Position Summary The Head of Accounting Advisory Services is responsible for leading the in-house SMSF accounting division. This leadership role oversees the delivery of SMSF compliance, taxation, and strategic advisory services, while playing a key role in growing the team, streamlining operations, and delivering a high standard of client service. The ideal candidate will combine Accounting expertise with proven leadership capability and a passion for process improvement and innovation. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the SMSF administration division, including onshore and offshore staff. Oversee the preparation and review of SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and annual compliance in accordance with ATO and SIS legislation. Act as the firm's Registered Tax Agent for SMSF lodgements. Collaborate with financial planners to deliver integrated advice on contributions, pensions, estate planning, and tax optimisation. Drive automation, process improvement, and technology adoption within the division. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and quality standards. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to SMSF accountants and administrators. Manage relationships with SMSF clients, external auditors, and regulatory bodies. Identify opportunities to grow the SMSF division and improve client offerings. Qualifications and Experience Minimum 8 years' experience in accounting and advisory roles. Registered Tax Agent (mandatory). CA or CPA qualification (preferred). Strong understanding of ATO compliance obligations and SIS Act requirements. Demonstrated experience in managing teams and driving operational improvements. Experience with SMSF software platforms and cloud-based tax/accounting systems. Excellent communication and client relationship management skills. Ability to work strategically and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
