ABOUT YDAN YDAN is Western Australia's leading advocacy organisationand peak representative body for young people with disabilities aged 12–25. Founded in 2015, we are a not-for-profit incorporated association run by young people, for young people — championing a future that is just, free from discrimination, and where disability culture is celebrated. Our work spans systemic advocacy, workshops, consulting, experiential access audits, guest speaker programs, and flagship projects including the SPARK Self-Advocacy Project, the UNLEASHED Employment Program, and the Disabled. Deal with It. campaign. THE ROLE The Treasurer is a key member of YDAN's Executive Committee, responsible for overseeing the financial health and integrity of the organisation. In this voluntary leadership position, you will work closely with the Board and Executive staff to ensure YDAN's finances are managed responsibly, transparently, and in line with our mission and legal obligations. Young Person Position (under 25) Central to our mission, we are committed to having young people with lived experience of disability at the heart of our governance and leadership. If you're under 25 and have an interest or background in finance, accounting, or financial management, this seat is for you. Older Adult Position (25) We also welcome experienced finance professionals, accountants, auditors, or business leaders who can bring strategic financial expertise and sector knowledge to complement our young leadership team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee and report on YDAN's financial position at Board meetings Prepare, present, and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Board and staff Oversee accurate financial records, bookkeeping, and compliance with the Associations Incorporation Act (WA) Liaise with external auditors and facilitate the annual financial audit or review Monitor cash flow, expenditure, and grant acquittal requirements Provide financial advice and recommendations to support Board decision-making Provide high-level guidance and support to YDAN finance staff.
