Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Department, providing guidance to a small team while ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and efficient accounting processes across the business. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor and support the Accounts team, ensuring work is completed accurately and within required timeframes. Oversee daily financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, progress claims, payment runs, purchase orders and debtor management. Prepare weekly cash flow reporting and provide financial information to senior management. Manage month-end, quarterly and year-end financial processes, including Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss reports and Trial Balances. Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll tax, superannuation and other statutory obligations. Complete bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations. Liaise with external accountants and auditors to assist with annual financial reporting. Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules and insurance records. Develop and improve accounting processes, policies and internal controls to support business efficiency and compliance. Ensure financial records comply with relevant accounting standards, taxation legislation and company procedures. Assist with financial reporting, forecasting and ad hoc analysis as required. About You To be successful in this role you will have: Previous experience in a senior accounts, bookkeeping, finance management or accounts leadership position. Experience within the construction or building industry will be highly regarded. A Diploma in Accounting or a higher accounting qualification. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, BAS, payroll tax and accounting principles. Experience using accounting software CHEOPS experience is advantageous but not essential Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 skills. Excellent leadership, communication and people management abilities. Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
