The Senior Policy Officer will lead the resolution of complex protected area policy challenges and management issues through the provision of high-level policy advice and coordination of projects. Key Role Outcomes: Provide strategic advice and coordinate delivery of complex policy projects to improve management of protected areas, ensuring projects reflect government priorities and are conducted effectively and efficiently. Stakeholders are identified and engaged with effective working relationships established. This includes consultation and liaison with departmental staff, traditional owners, local government, special interest groups and the community, development of appropriate community engagement and strategies, and representing the department at community meetings and other forums as required. Legislative and regulatory solutions for complex protected area management issues are researched and high-level advice is provided to senior management for their resolution. Contract: Ongoing Essential Criteria (including qualifications): A current class “C” driver’s licence, and willingness to drive, is essential.
