About the role Engineering Design Services – Electrical, Mechanical & Water delivers safe, reliable, and high-quality engineering solutions aligned with the City of Gold Coast’s infrastructure goals and High-Performance Principles. Our multidisciplinary teams embed safety and wellbeing in every stage of design, focus on strong community outcomes and long-term sustainability, and drive excellence through technical quality and innovation. Through collaboration, accountability, and a strong commitment to value and compliance, we provide cost‑effective, future‑ready solutions and act as the City’s trusted internal service provider in building a safe, resilient, and sustainable Gold Coast. Lead the electrical design drafting for electrical design team projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards. Prepare drawings, plans and diagrams of electrical installations and circuitry in AutoCAD as required and print them out in PDF form for Electrical Engineer review and comment. Assist Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in design and layout of electrical installations and circuitry on switchgear, cabling systems and motor control systems. Collect data, perform tests and complex calculations, graph results, and prepare charts and tabulations in AutoCAD. Collaborate with engineers, project managers and other disciplines to ensure detailed, coordinated, compliant design drawings. Review electrical design drawings prepared by external consultants for QA in terms of drafting, ensuring adherence to design drafting standards, regulations and project requirements. Maintain drawing standards, support QA processes, and contribute to design reviews. Deliver high‑quality drawing packages in line with project timelines and Australian standards. Provide electrical drafting and drawing management services for large projects. Capability of working independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
