About the Role: Located at Bayview Street, the Runaway Bay Retirement Community is looking for a dedicated Catering Team Member for permanent Part-time role approx. 55 hrs per fortnight. Our catering team plays an important role in the daily lives of our residents. More than simply preparing and serving meals, our team creates a welcoming dining experience where residents can enjoy good food, social connection and a sense of community. Key Responsibilities : • Assist with menu & ingredient preparation, cooking, plating and meal service. • Set up and clear dining area before and after meal service (lunch & supper), maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. • Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen area at all times. • Knowledge of safe food handling practices. • Assist with resident functions when required. • Adhere to workplace health and safety requirements, including safe manual handling practices. • Flexibility to pick up additional shifts to cover annual leave, personal leave and other operational requirements as needed. We’re looking for a candidate who demonstrates : · Good verbal and written communication skills. · Ability to work with minimal supervision. · Build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with residents. · Knowledge of chemical products, including safe handling and intended use. Skills and attributes: · Self-motivated person and team player. · Displays a high level of initiative. · Flexible approach to working hours and ability to work under pressure. · Ability to work unsupervised where necessary and acts enthusiastically about improving service levels. · Exhibits a caring nature. · Committed to quality outcomes Remuneration is set according to Level 3 of the Aged Care Award.
