We are currently partnering with a leading national law firm seeking to grow its highly regarded Cyber, Privacy and Insurance practice due to a sustained increase in workflow and a strong pipeline of matters. The team advises insurers, government entities, multinational corporations and listed organisations on some of Australia's most complex cyber incidents, data breaches, regulatory investigations and coverage disputes. Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane Lawyer (1–4 PQE) Senior Associate / Special Counsel (5) The Opportunity This is a unique opportunity to join a specialist practice at the forefront of one of the fastest-growing areas of law. The team is involved in high-profile cyber incidents from the moment a breach occurs, working closely with insurers, forensic experts, crisis management consultants, IT security specialists and clients to navigate legal, regulatory and commercial risk. You will gain exposure to: • Cyber incident response and data breach management • Privacy and information security advice • Regulatory investigations involving APRA, ASIC and the OAIC • Coverage disputes across cyber, professional indemnity, D&O and financial lines policies • Complex insurance litigation and commercial disputes • Class action defence arising from cyber and privacy incidents • Policy interpretation and indemnity advice • Emerging technology, privacy and cybersecurity risks For Lawyers (1–5 PQE) The team is open to candidates from insurance litigation, commercial litigation, regulatory, disputes, professional indemnity, financial lines, medical negligence or broader defendant insurance backgrounds. Previous cyber experience is not required. For Senior Associates / Special Counsel The firm is also interested in speaking with experienced cyber practitioners who can bring strong technical capability and a desire to take ownership of matters.
