Robert Half is currently partnering with a well-established organisation based in Perth's inner suburbs to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant for a 6-month temporary contract (could extend!) This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative finance team and gain exposure to a fast-paced commercial environment, with offices conveniently located close to public transport and local amenities. The Role: Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function across month-end, reporting, reconciliations, and transactional accounting activities. This position would suit a hands-on Assistant Accountant who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and can quickly adapt to new systems and processes. Key Responsibilities: Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Prepare balance sheet and bank reconciliations Process journals, accruals and prepayments Support the preparation of management reports Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities Maintain fixed asset registers Assist with BAS and statutory reporting requirements Support audit preparation and compliance activities Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide financial support and insights Assist with ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives About You: Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant position Strong reconciliation and analytical skills Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business The ability to quickly adapt and contribute in a temporary environment Relevant accounting qualifications or progress towards CA/CPA (highly regarded) What's on Offer? 6-month temporary contract with an immediate start, and a Convenient location in Perth's inner suburbs Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunity to broaden your experience within a reputable organisation Competitive hourly rate If you are immediately available or coming to the end of your current contract, we'd love to hear from you.
