We are seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand / Team Leader to join our growing civil construction team in Bringelly, NSW. This role will focus on the installation of sound barrier walls across major infrastructure and civil projects. The successful candidate will lead a small crew, coordinate daily site activities, and ensure works are completed safely and efficiently. Role and responsibility would include: - Lead the onsite construction of noise barrier wall project - Be hands on, physically undertaking construction activities, working with the site team - Take responsibility for small team of typically 3-5 workers - Be the main site representative when the Project Manager or Construction Manager is not on site - Read & understand plans and drawings - Understand RL levels, calculate levels from design RLs - Setout the works / centres of pile holes, from survey pegs - Drill pier holes, install steel posts to correct spacing, verticality, level and alignment - Place concrete to pier holes - Install noise wall panels - Spray Painting of noise wall panels - Manage other subcontractors as required (eg Traffic control, Tree loppers, setout surveyor, geotech / engineer inspections) - Manage deliveries to site (eg material deliveries of steel posts, wall panels, ordering of concrete for piles, etc) - Take responsibility for WHS, Environmental management and Quality on site. - Provide a Works Plan for the week ahead, identifying and allocating labour resourcing and plant & materials required, productivity rates and program, and submit this plan to the PM - Submission of Daily Works Report every day - Submit copies of delivery dockets to head office - Facilitate Daily Prestart meeting, induct new starters, etc - Keep PM regularly updated with site progress, issues, delays, EOTs (including emails with photos) - Send emails to client representative to document any site agreements, issues, delays, etc Reports to: Project Manager (offsite) Qualifications, experience: - Civil construction experience (or structural landscaping/building as a minimum) - Excavator operator (preferable with auger drilling experience) - Truck license (preferable) to occasionally drive a semi trailer to float machines and materials to job sites - Concreting experience - Piling experience an advantage - Trade qualification preferred Personal qualities: - Loyalty - Integrity - Reliability - does what they say, turns up on time every day - Communicates proactively - Pays attention to detail - Has an 'eye for levels' - Can manage and perform under pressure - Prepared to travel 1 hours to job site location each way, each day - Be prepared to work & live away from home for distant projects, as required (eg other projects in regional NSW, QLD, VIC) - Own vehicle Work hours: - Typically Monday - Friday (we don't regularly work Saturdays) - Typically 6.45am - 3.30 / 5pm (depending on site works & requirements each day) Location: - Majority of projects are in Greater Sydney metro & Wollongong Areas.
