Shape a Landmark Project From Day One This is an opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to play a critical role in the delivery of a significant multi-residential development in Brisbane's inner west. Joining a highly respected privately owned builder with a reputation for delivering some of SEQ most premium apartment projects, you will become involved at the earliest stages of a major project currently entering ECI. Working closely with senior leadership, consultants and the client team, you will influence key design, procurement, buildability and construction decisions that will directly impact the success of the project. The initial focus will be a 15-level apartment development featuring 86 residences, ground floor retail, three levels of podium parking and extensive rooftop amenities including pool and recreation spaces. The project is currently at ECI stage which presents an outstanding opportunity to help shape the design before construction commences. Your Role Reporting directly to senior project leadership, you will take ownership of the design management process throughout ECI and delivery phases, ensuring consultant coordination, programme alignment, buildability outcomes and commercial objectives are achieved. Key responsibilities include: Managing consultant teams through design development and documentation phases Driving buildability reviews and value engineering initiatives Coordinating design deliverables to meet programme and procurement requirements Managing RFIs, consultant engagement and stakeholder communication Working closely with construction, commercial and procurement teams throughout ECI Reviewing design documentation for compliance, coordination and risk mitigation Supporting authority approvals and design resolution processes Facilitating seamless transition from design development into project delivery Your Experience To be successful in this position you will ideally possess: Experience as a Design Manager within a commercial builder or developer-builder environment Strong exposure to multi-residential, mixed-use or high-rise construction projects A sound understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and buildability principles The ability to influence consultants and stakeholders to achieve project outcomes Strong communication and leadership skills Experience managing complex consultant teams and design programmes Relevant tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline Your Career Opportunity to influence a landmark apartment project from ECI through completion Long-term pipeline of quality negotiated work across South East Queensland Highly experienced leadership team with a collaborative culture Flat management structure with direct access to decision makers Strong financial backing and excellent industry reputation Competitive salary package reflective of experience If you're looking for an opportunity to move beyond design coordination, project architecture or progress in your design management influence this role offers the platform to make a lasting impact.
