What if you could drive commercial outcomes on Australia's most complex projects The Opportunity We are seeking a Commercial Manager to support strong commercial outcomes across bids and projects through disciplined contract management, early risk identification and effective day-to-day commercial control. This is a hands-on commercial role partnering closely with Project Managers and Project Directors to support informed delivery decisions, maintain post-award discipline and ensure commercial risks are identified and escalated at the right time. What you'll be accountable for As a Commercial Manager , you will help embed commercial frameworks and good practice across the project lifecycle - from bid and pursuit activity through to delivery, close-out and lessons learned. You will: Implement commercial and contract management practices from the bid stage through project delivery and close-out. Identify commercial, contractual and margin risks at the project level, escalating emerging issues early. Support bid and pursuit teams with commercial inputs, contract reviews and risk identification. Help ensure scope definition, pricing assumptions and risk positions are clearly documented and understood. Maintain fit-for-purpose contract management arrangements across assigned projects. Prepare and manage contractual notices, commercial correspondence and records in line with governance requirements. Manage variations, extensions of time and low-to-medium complexity claims, escalating where value, risk or complexity increases. Monitor project commercial performance, flagging margin erosion, scope drift or delivery misalignment promptly. Act as a trusted commercial partner to Project Managers, helping embed commercial discipline and consistent standards across projects. Work collaboratively with Finance, Legal, Risk and senior commercial leaders to support integrated outcomes. What you'll bring You are a pragmatic, organised and detail-focused commercial professional who is comfortable working in delivery-focused environments and under time pressure. You will bring: Solid experience in commercial, contracts or project management, ideally within professional services or project-based environments. Working knowledge of contract forms commonly used in consulting and engineering projects. Experience supporting variations, claims and contractual processes under guidance. Sound commercial judgement, including the ability to recognise when issues need to be escalated. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain commercial issues to delivery teams in practical terms.
