Do you love the outdoors, gardening, or local history? Help us keep Bellbrae Cemetery a beautiful, natural, and peaceful place for everyone while connecting with your community. The Bellbrae Cemetery Trust is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our regular Working Bee team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals, families, or groups who want to give back to the community, enjoy some fresh air, and help maintain the tranquil grounds of our historic local cemetery. Our working bees are held every two months, normally on a Friday. It is a low-commitment, highly rewarding way to get involved, meet lovely people, and make a real difference! What’s Involved? Our working bees focus on light outdoor maintenance, seasonal gardening, and beautification projects across the cemetery grounds. Tasks can be tailored to your physical comfort and interests, and typically include general gardening, weeding, and pruning, assisting with the upkeep and landscaping of our memorial gardens, clearing fallen debris, leaves, and twigs to keep pathways safe and tidy, caring for historical gravesites and helping preserve our local heritage. We always wrap up the session by gathering together for a well-deserved morning tea—our way of saying a big thank you for your efforts! No Experience Needed: Whether you are a green thumb or just eager to help out, everyone is welcome!
