About the Role As the Senior Medical Secretary, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the practice and provide high-level administrative support across clinics, surgical bookings and patient management. This position would suit someone who thrives under pressure, takes initiative, communicates professionally, and genuinely enjoys delivering exceptional patient care and service. Key Responsibilities; · Preparing and coordinating busy specialist clinics · Managing patient appointments and incoming referrals · Scheduling surgery bookings and theatre lists · Liaising with GPs, specialists, radiology providers, hospitals, and allied health professionals · Managing medical billings, private accounts, DVA, Workers Compensation, and public hospital billing processes · Medical typing and correspondence · Answering phones and responding to patient enquiries · Managing computerised diaries and clinic schedules · Scanning and entering clinical documentation · Assisting with practice coordination and workflow management · Training and mentoring junior administrative staff · Coordinating staff leave calendars and on-call rosters *This is a full time role but flexible hours are negotiable. About You You are a proactive, well-organised professional with a background in medical administration and a commitment to patient care. You are confident managing competing priorities, working independently, and taking initiative where needed.
