The Fremantle Recycling Centre is an award-winning service provided for City of Fremantle residents and includes a Reuse Shop and Household Hazardous Waste facility. It is open to the public on Fridays 12-4pm, Saturday to Sunday 8am-4pm (closed public holidays), and neighbours the Fremantle Containers for Change Refund Point. The Fremantle Recycling Centre is seeking a new team member for around 10-15 hours per week. Key Responsibilities Operate the Fremantle Recycling and Resource Recovery Centre (FRRRC) and Reuse Shop to a high service standard. Assist customers with source separation of waste streams to support resource recovery and landfill diversion targets. Provide accurate data collection, including customer information and data on waste streams and volumes. Engage with the community to provide advice on recycling and resource recovery services offered by the City. Provide information on household hazardous waste (HHW) facility operations. Basic traffic management. Operate plant and equipment, including forklift and baler. To be considered for this position, you will need Effective communication and customer service skills. Administration and computer skills (including Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to working weekends. Forklift ticket. Preferably you have practical experience in the recycling industry, transfer stations, or resource recovery facilities.
