We're looking for a Junior Photographer & Client Bookings Assistant to join our team in a casual role based at our O'Connor studio. This role requires availability Tuesday to Saturday and will initially offer approximately 15–30 hours per week. As the business grows, there will be opportunities for additional hours and potential progression into a permanent part-time or full-time position. This role would be ideal for a photography student, hobby photographer or emerging photographer looking to develop their skills in a professional studio environment. You'll work across our three photography brands, assisting with portrait sessions, speaking with clients, managing bookings and helping with the day-to-day running of the studio. About Murran Corp Murran Corp operates three established portrait photography brands: • Portraiture By Goddess – luxury women's portraiture, branding and maternity photography • Freedom Photography – newborn, family and couples photography • Mr. Woof and Fluffy – pet photography Since 2015, these brands have created meaningful portrait experiences for clients across Perth, capturing important milestones, family connections and beloved pets. What You'll Be Doing Photography Assisting photographers during portrait sessions Photographing selected sessions under supervision and guidance Learning posing, lighting and studio photography techniques Preparing sets, props and equipment before appointments Assisting with newborn, family, maternity, women's and pet photography sessions Maintaining cameras, lighting equipment and studio presentation Client Bookings & Customer Service Answering phone and email enquiries Speaking with prospective clients about our photography experiences Booking consultations and portrait sessions Updating client information within our booking system Following up enquiries and appointment confirmations Providing a friendly and professional experience for every client Studio Support Welcoming clients into the studio Assisting with refreshments and client comfort Supporting wardrobe and session preparation Keeping the studio clean, organised and ready for sessions Assisting with behind-the-scenes content when required What We're Looking For Essential • Passion for photography and working with people • Friendly, confident and professional communication skills • Comfortable speaking on the phone and building rapport with clients • Good organisational skills and attention to detail • Basic computer skills • Reliable and punctual • Positive attitude and willingness to learn • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Availability to work Tuesday to Saturday Highly Regarded • Basic photography knowledge • Experience using DSLR or mirrorless cameras • Customer service experience • Experience conducting client presentations or viewing appointments • Confidence discussing photography products, wall art and albums with clients • Sales experience in a customer-focused environment • Social media content creation experience Experience That Would Be Helpful • Previous experience assisting during photography sessions • Basic understanding of studio lighting and camera settings • Familiarity with Adobe Lightroom or similar editing software • Experience using booking systems, CRMs or scheduling software • Prior experience with GoHighLevel or a similar CRM • Newborn safety training or certification • Experience working with children, families or animals • Experience with wall art, album or portrait product consultations What We Offer • Casual position with approximately 15–30 hours per week initially • Ongoing training and mentoring from experienced photographers • Hands-on experience across newborn, family, women's and pet photography • Supportive and friendly team environment • Well-equipped studio based in O'Connor • Opportunities for additional hours as the business grows • Potential progression into a permanent part-time or full • Immediate start available for the right candidate • Availability to work Tuesday to Saturday is required Location O'Connor, Perth WA How to Apply Please send: • Your resume • Any photography portfolio, Instagram account or examples of your work (optional) • A short introduction telling us why you'd like to work in photography Applications should be sent to: freedomphotography.com.au If you're passionate about photography, enjoy working with people and want to build a rewarding career in a creative industry, we'd love to hear from you.
