We are seeking an Automation Test Specialist to join our team in Perth, supporting a major Australian mining company on a flagship program focused on AI-driven and real-time operational systems. You will work on software that enables next-generation industrial capabilities, including intelligent control systems, optimisation platforms, and mission-critical applications that operate in complex, real-world environments. These systems underpin large-scale operational platforms where reliability, safety, and performance are critical to success. This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-impact program at the intersection of: AI and machine learning Real-time industrial systems Large-scale distributed platforms What You’ll Be Doing As a Software Test Specialist, you will ensure that complex, distributed and AI-enabled systems are rigorously tested and production-ready. Key responsibilities include: Developing and executing comprehensive test strategies for distributed systems Designing and maintaining automated test frameworks (unit, integration, system, regression) Validating AI/ML-enabled services, including data flows and inference behaviour Performing performance, load, and resilience testing Embedding testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous validation Working closely with engineers and data scientists to improve system quality and testability Supporting defect analysis, root cause investigation, and continuous improvement Contributing to release readiness and quality metrics What You Bring 4–8 years’ experience in software testing or quality engineering Experience testing backend or distributed systems Strong experience with automated testing tools and frameworks Experience working in CI/CD environments Familiarity with performance and load testing approaches Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Technical Requirements Experience testing APIs and microservices-based architectures Familiarity with containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes) Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures Experience with performance and load testing tools Working knowledge of Linux environments Scripting capability (e.g. Python, Bash) Nice to Have Experience in high-availability or real-time systems Exposure to industrial, mining, or operational technology environments Experience testing AI/ML or data-driven systems in production DXC is committed to building better futures for our customers, colleagues, environment, and communities.
