About the Job There is an exciting opportunity with the Community Development team for a Administration Officer. This position provides administrative support to the Esperance Civic Centre and the Community Development and Events team, contributing to the day‑to‑day operations of the venue, including administration, advertising and promotion. The role also supports community engagement by maintaining communication channels with the community sector and assisting with the planning, implementation and delivery of programs, events and projects in response to identified needs, service gaps and community strengths as outlined by Council. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide administrative support within the day to day operations of the Esperance Civic Centre and Community Development and Events teams as required. Ensure appropriate and innovative advertising and promotion activities are undertaken for Civic Centre shows and programs. Maintain and nurture communication channels with the community sector including undertaking effective consultation, producing and disseminating relevant information and promotional material. Provide support and guidance to community organisations to assist them in achieving their goals. Assist fellow Events and Community Development staff to plan, implement, deliver and evaluate major community events, projects, workshops, programs and other opportunites for community organisations, volunteers and/or community members to connect with wider networks, consistent with Council’s priorities. Maintain websites for key Community Development/ Civic Centre programs and events. Provide an active presence in the community groups including attendance to out of business hours meetings and functions, representing the Council where appropriate. Assist with the ticketing and bookings systems for the Civic Centre shows. Assist with the coordination of volunteers and casual staff. Coordinate and administer the Kidsport Program Any other duties as required. This is a full time position, working 38 hours per week. About you In order to succeed and thrive in this position, you must have: Level 4 Previous relevevant experience in administration roles. Well developed customer service skills including interpersonal and networking skills. Experience in working with community groups and organisations. Working knowledge of Microsoft based computer software packages, eg Word and Excel. Flexible approach to working hours. Current drivers licence. Working With Children Card or ability to obtain. RSA or ability to obtain. Level 5 Relevant qualifications at a tertiary level. Extensive experience in Social Media engagement and creation of promotional materials Indepth functional knowledge of Microsoft based computer software packages, eg Word and Excel. Demonstrated experience with Canva. Project management and event experience, including budget management and supervision of casual staff and volunteers. Benefits Salary : $70,689.00-$73,600.00 per annum Permanent staff are entitled to: 5 weeks annual leave per year The option of one Rostered Day Off (RDO) every 4 weeks in exchange for working 40 hours per week.
