JOB HIGHLIGHTS • Permanent role with a growing Brisbane civil contractor - long-term opportunity, not a backfill • Salary negotiated on capability and experience - competitive with the current Brisbane civil market • High-autonomy environment - own your site, work directly with the business principal WHAT YOU'LL DO • Supervise civil crews, operators and subcontractors across self-perform earthworks, drainage, pits, pipework and final trim on industrial and commercial civil projects • Plan ahead - typically four weeks out - coordinating materials, plant, access and subcontractors before your crews need them • Read, interpret and work directly from civil construction drawings; set levels, coordinate set-out, identify issues before they reach the ground • Run daily prestarts and toolbox talks; own safety, QA and site documentation WHAT YOU'LL NEED • A track record of independently supervising civil or construction crews on self-perform projects - not coordinating from a PMO • Genuine ability to read and interpret civil drawings directly, not just review engineer markups • Practical understanding of levels, set-out, lasers and construction sequencing • Construction White Card and current drivers licence Civil background preferred - but if you've come up through trades or building and moved into civil supervision, we want to hear from you. What matters most is that you understand how work is physically built, planned and sequenced. ABOUT THE CLIENT This is a self-perform civil contractor operating across Brisbane's industrial and commercial sectors. The team is lean, the expectations are high, and the person above you is a hands-on operator who came through the tools himself. You'll be working on active subdivision and infrastructure projects with a clear pipeline of upcoming work already in place. If you're currently employed and waiting for a role that offers genuine site ownership rather than supervised delivery - this is worth a conversation. BENEFITS • Permanent position with a contractor actively growing its Brisbane project portfolio • Package negotiated on capability - competitive with the current SEQ civil market • Direct access to business leadership - no layers of management between you and the decisions • Strong pipeline of work across Brisbane with further opportunities as the business scales ABOUT AWX AWX started out with two blokes, a people problem and a whole lot of grit - and that's still how we run.
