A leading property group is seeking an experienced Development Manager to drive the planning, design and delivery of major mixed use, residential and community focused projects across Sydney. This is a rare opportunity to join a high growth organisation delivering precinct scale developments with strong architectural, public realm and placemaking ambitions. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll take ownership of projects from early feasibility through to delivery, managing consultants, shaping design outcomes, navigating approvals and ensuring commercial, social and sustainability objectives are met. Responsibilities include: Lead development activities from concept, feasibility and business case through to delivery Manage planning pathways, authority engagement and approval strategies Oversee design development, consultant appointments and coordination Build and manage project budgets, feasibilities and financial models Drive procurement strategies and support contract negotiations Work closely with delivery teams to ensure design intent and commercial outcomes are achieved Prepare board papers, investment briefs and stakeholder reports Champion placemaking, community outcomes and long‑term asset value The ideal candidate will bring years of development management experience across residential, mixed‑use, master-planned communities or large‑scale precincts, supported by strong skills in feasibility analysis, financial modelling and commercial decision‑making. They will have proven capability managing consultants, design teams and planning processes, along with a solid understanding of NSW planning frameworks and authority engagement. Success in this role requires someone who can influence outcomes, manage risk and drive project strategy while communicating confidently with stakeholders and investors. A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and a passion for delivering high‑quality built outcomes are essential.
