Moombarriga Geoscience is a specialised geophysical acquisition company, providing high quality geophysical data to primarily the mineral, renewable and environmental industries. Moombarriga Geoscience have offices in Australia the US and Canada and conduct surveys across the world. We are seeking experienced geophysical operators with team leader experience and at least two years' experience in data acquisition, specifically induced polarisation (IP) and/or magnetotelluric (MT) surveys. The right candidate will be motivated, reliable, and able to work constructively in our growing team. Candidates should have experience in managing a team of 3-7 people in the field with an understanding of the logistical requirements of field operations. They should also be a clear communicator and able to provide training and mentoring to younger staff in field tasks. As a team leader your role include on-site client liaison, implementation of and adherence to company OH&S standards, implementation of survey variation, in field data QA/QC, in field equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, oversee field team in deployment, acquisition and recovery of survey equipment, oversee camp logistics and ensuring a high level of communication between field team and head office (Perth). Surveying in regional and remote areas is Moombarriga's core business so candidates must be willing to work out of temporary exploration camps where they will be working and living with a relatively small group of people. Moombarriga aim for an ongoing three week on, two week off roster. Team leaders will need to be able to oversee logistical requirements of a safe and successful remote camp. Good communication skills, self-motivation and personal initiative are key skills we will be searching for in potential employees. A successful candidate will be expected to manage their field crew to ensure high quality geophysical data are acquired within project time constraints. They will also be expected to be the business representative and on the ground point of contact for clients and as such, will be expected to always promote the business interests. Candidates will need to be willing to follow direction, have a positive attitude, work well in a team and maintain a good level of physical fitness. Important skills of a successful candidate should include: Experience working in regional and remote conditions Experience in acquisition of IP data using different survey configurations (e.g., gradient, dipole-dipole, pole-dipole), including receiver systems. Good understanding of the challenges faced during data acquisition and in field solutions Ability to identify and troubleshoot bad data in the field Current 'C' class driver's license (manual) Experience in operating a 4WD vehicle safely Experience in mapping and GIS software use Strong understanding and experience in operating a hand-held GPS Mechanical and technical competence to maintain equipment and vehicles Desirable skills include : Experience in managing a team safely in remote conditions Experience using IP transmitters Experience using SmarTEM receivers or magnetotelluric receivers Experience in other electromagnetic geophysical surveying techniques, in particular electrode use and maintenance HR license Current First Aid certification Current 4WD operation and maintenance certification Experience in towing a trailer Successful Candidates must be willing to complete & supply : Extensive Medical Drug & Alcohol Testing Police Clearance Please note: Moombarriga Geoscience is a Perth Based Company.
