Cairns Hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland and also provides care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait. Infrastructure Asset Management currently consist of professional, operational, administrative and trade staff. The Trades include electrical, fitting, plumbing, painting and carpentry. These responsibilities are exercised through the management of in-house labour and the management and supervision of day labour and/or contractors where necessary to supplement in-house labour. About your opportunity: In this position you will: Under the direction of the Engineering Services Manager, develop and implement tactical, strategic and operational level asset management inputs, outputs, controls and reporting across a range of maintenance services, information technology services, asset accounting and health service planning. Provide responsible leadership in workflow management, staff development and training, mentoring, performance auditing, policy and procedure development and continuous improvement for the asset management activities across the Cairns and Hinterland HHS. Develop and implement a range of policies, systems and procedures to ensure the CHHHS asset management system delivers outcomes that align with strategic intentions, and that ensure risk and compliance is managed, and value is derived from existing and proposed assets over the asset lifecycle. Understand, interpret, and apply legislative and policy instruments to ensure asset related risk, compliance and performance is managed transparently and conforms to legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements and asset management standards, policies and processes and ensures organisational sustainability.
