About Our Team: The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health challenges. The Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorders Service (CAHDS) is a statewide service supporting children and young people under 18 years of age, along with their families, who experience ongoing difficulties with attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. CAHDS works with children and young people who have a confirmed diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and who are currently receiving treatment for challenges related to inattention, hyperactive behaviour, or impulse control. About the Role: As a Psychologist within the Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorders Service (CAHDS), you will work closely with schools, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support children and young people with complex attention and hyperactivity disorders, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other neurodevelopmental conditions. The role focuses on strengthening educational and psychosocial outcomes through consultation, assessment, collaboration, and capacity‑building within school settings, while ensuring practice aligns with professional, ethical, and organisational standards. Some of your key accountabilities will include: Supporting schools to interpret and apply CAHDS assessment reports to enhance educational and psychosocial outcomes for students. Assisting with the development and implementation of school‑based student support services and programs delivered by CAHDS. Conducting psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and family functioning using interviews, behavioural observations, psychometric and psycho‑diagnostic tools, and systems‑based evaluation in collaboration with schools, families, and external agencies. Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to clinical management and intervention planning. Providing advice, consultation, and training on psychological matters to colleagues and school staff. Liaising with schools regarding the ongoing clinical management and support of clients. Engaging in continuous professional development and performance evaluation. Participating in applied clinical and evaluative research activities as required. Maintaining accurate client records and statistical data in accordance with Directorate requirements. Providing feedback and reports on training and educational activities. Complying with guidelines for the use, maintenance, and selection of psychological therapy and assessment materials and other government property.
