Position Overview The Production Scheduler & Planner is a key role responsible for coordinating production scheduling, material planning and purchasing activities across the business to ensure efficient manufacturing operations, on time delivery and effective inventory control. Working directly with the Operations Manager and engaging with the executive team, this role sits at the centre of the business, aligning production, materials and customer delivery requirements. The role works closely with production, sales, design and suppliers to maintain workflow, manage stock levels and drive overall operational performance. This is a fast paced, high impact position suited to someone who takes ownership, improves systems and wants to play a key role in the continued growth of the business. Key Responsibilities • Create and maintain daily and weekly production schedules • Coordinate workflow between fabrication, powder coating, assembly and installation departments • Monitor production capacity and identify bottlenecks or delays • Manage purchasing of raw materials, components and consumables • Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate pricing and lead times • Track inventory levels and ensure stock availability for production requirements • Raise and manage purchase orders through ERP/MRP systems • Work closely with sales and operations teams to align production with customer delivery requirements • Monitor overdue purchase orders and supplier performance • Assist with inventory accuracy and stock control processes • Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and supply chain functions • Maintain accurate scheduling and purchasing records Skills & Experience • Previous experience in production planning, scheduling or purchasing within manufacturing • Strong organisational and time management skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment • High attention to detail and problem solving ability • Strong communication and supplier management skills • Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred • Intermediate computer skills including Excel and Outlook • Automotive or manufacturing industry experience highly regarded Key Success Measures • On time production and delivery performance • Inventory accuracy and stock availability • Reduced production downtime due to material shortages • Supplier performance and purchasing efficiency • Production workflow coordination and scheduling accuracy The Opportunity This role offers strong exposure across the business and the opportunity to contribute to future growth, making it ideal for someone looking to build a long term career in operations and supply chain within a growing manufacturing environment.
