About the Role Due to ongoing internal growth, we are now seeking a dedicated and detailed driven Purchasing Officer to join our purchasing team based at our Head Office in Helensvale (QLD). Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be exposed to all aspects of our buying process and strategy while managing day-to-day purchasing activities across a diverse product portfolio. With a strong online presence, we offer an extensive and dynamic range of products. This is not a transactional buying role or function reliant on historic data. Integral to its success is the ability to manage working capital, supplier relationships and availability in a fast-growing, distribution-led business. Responsibilities Monitor stock levels and plan ahead to ensure suitable inventory levels Raise and manage purchase orders in line with forecasts Provide an uninterrupted supply of goods to the organization Build and maintain a strong rapport with Suppliers across the board. Negotiate contracts and competitive pricing. Expedite urgent orders and resolve any discrepancy or supply issues Required Knowledge and Skills 5 years' experience in purchasing or procurement is highly desirable Proficient with Excel — you should be comfortable working with data and creating basic analyses Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities without compromising accuracy Ability to work within a team and take ownership of your own tasks.
