School Operations Leader This role sits at the intersection of governance, compliance, operational systems and executive support. We are looking for a person who is motivated by work that directly supports the school's vision for young people and who enjoys bringing clarity, structure and momentum to a dynamic and collaborative community. Peregrine is a small K–10 community in the Huon Valley, southern Tasmania. For over 25 years, we have built a place grounded in strong relationships, student agency, and learning that connects to real life. At the centre of our current work is a simple question: how do we help young people think well, act with care, and shape a life that matters in a time of profound change? For a community like ours to flourish, a great deal of thoughtful work needs to happen behind the scenes. Records must be maintained carefully, systems need to be coherent, compliance evidence must be readily available, and communication should be clear and well timed. When this work is done well, it creates confidence and allows teachers and leaders to focus their attention on young people. The right person will be able to interpret clear regulatory requirements while applying sound judgement and flexibility in a creative and relational environment. To thrive in this role, you would need to be highly organised, intellectually curious, a thoughtful and effective communicator and a strong systems thinker. The role involves making sense of complexity, writing with precision, and designing processes that are both rigorous and practical. You would need to be able to hold the detail and the wider organisational picture in mind, exercise sound judgement, and take genuine satisfaction in creating and maintaining systems that help other people do their best work. This role is as much about people as it is about systems. You will work alongside colleagues to introduce new processes, explain expectations clearly, and follow things through with patience and respect. The ability to communicate well, build trust, and support others to learn and meet agreed standards is central to the role. You will need to be thoughtful, capable, and flexible enough to work in a very small team, where unplanned events can require responsive shifting of priorities. We are open to hearing from professionals with experience in operations, governance, compliance, policy development, project management, executive support, school administration, or related fields where analytical thinking, strong writing, and professional judgement are central to the work. Experience in education is helpful, but not essential. The role is available now and may be offered between 0.8 and 1.0 FTE for the right candidate. If this sounds like your kind of role, the next step is to come and have a look or engage in a conversation with us. Applications close on June 5, 2026. Reach out to Imogen: peregrine.tas.edu.au
