About the role Join the Environmental Management team and provide specialist technical expertise and experience on specific environmental matters related to transport, stormwater, open space community facilities, waste management facilities and sewage treatment plants. In this important role for our City, the Senior Environmental Management Advisor will facilitate continual improvement as it applies to applicable sections of Infrastructure Gold Coast environmental legal compliance and performance, including environmental business efficiency. Duties for the will include (but not limited to) Provide specialist environmental advice and peer-review services, to project managers and asset custodians, from planning, design through to delivery, in aiming to ensure that projects are undertaken in accordance with environmental statutory and legal requirements. Monitor and review changes in legislation and industry best practices to support the Coordinator Environmental Management in maintaining currency of the Department Environmental Management System processes and procedures. Provide complex environmental planning advice and day-to-day operational decisions to minimise the environmental impacts from infrastructure projects. Specify design elements during the project design phase and in the field on matters involving legal compliance, to support construction teams building new and maintaining infrastructure. Undertake environmental inspections, audits and analysis, in aiming to ensure Infrastructure Gold Coast works comply with statutory requirements and corporate expectations. We’re looking for people who have: Bachelor’s degree of Environmental Science or equivalent knowledge and experience A high level of communication skills to provide technical environmental advice to a variety of stakeholders from varying backgrounds. Experience in similar role with a sound understanding of environmental matters such as transport, stormwater, open space community facilities, waste management facilities and sewage treatment plants.
