About the Program: Families Together is a Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) funded program that offers flexible, family‑centred case management to help keep children safe and supported at home. Working alongside families, the program aims to reduce the need for out‑of‑home care by building on existing strengths and capabilities. The Program supports parents and carers to respond confidently to their children’s needs and create safe, nurturing home environments through parenting support, strengthened family functioning, promoting healthy child development, and providing practical assistance to ensure homes are safe and supportive places for children to grow. About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Specialist Lead to join our supportive team in Tuggerah (Central Coast, NSW) on a permanent full-time basis, 5 days per week. Reporting to the Practice Manager, the role provides people leadership to 9 staff delivering family support to children, young people and their families. As a Specialist Lead you will provide technical and supervisory clinical support, help with case plans and case reviews and supporting the delivery of group work and monitoring allocations of work, pertaining to Families Together Program. To be successful in this role, you will have at least 2-3 years of established leadership experience in a similar role, leading multi-disciplinary teams. As part of your role, you will oversee the delivery of the Families Together service, including on-call requirements and ensures staff are supported to deliver high quality, evidence-based casework that meets family identified goals. Key Responsibilities: Leading, supervising and mentoring a team 9 staff including providing clinical supervision. Conduct thorough assessments of families and young people to ensure the child’s and family’s needs are addressed. Work with families with children on a range of issues that include Domestic Violence, Mental Health and Alcohol and drug misuse in the family context and child safety. Apply evidence-based practice and drawing on theoretical frameworks appropriate to the needs of the children and young people. Work within the program guidelines, collecting and reporting on outcomes to ensure we are meeting the needs of the clients and community we serve. What You’ll Bring: Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling (or other related discipline). Min. 2-3 years' experience leading and supervising a team, with a strong ability to build an effective engaged team and drive impact. Strong experience or extensive knowledge in Trauma Informed, Strengths Based Casework Interventions and Human-Rights frameworks. Ability to develop family-based interventions which increase child safety. Sound understanding of Family Systems theory and working systemically with families. Family Problem solving and engaging and effective communication skills. Continual child development research and its application in treatment. Demonstrated networking and advocacy skills with both internal and external stakeholders. Excellent communication, stakeholder management & problem-solving skills. Why Join Us?
