The Opportunity The Senior Advisor, Regional Engagement – South West plays a key role in supporting the development and delivery of community and stakeholder engagement across the South West, and Central Highlands Renewable Energy Zones (REZ). This role, supported by senior leaders and colleagues, helps drive early, genuine and place-based engagement to strengthen social acceptance and community understanding of renewable energy projects, aligned with the Victorian Transmission Investment Framework (VTIF). As part of the regional engagement team, the Senior Advisor builds strong relationships with local communities, landholders and Traditional Owners, develops high-quality engagement plans, and collaborates with renewable energy proponents to support effective REZ planning and delivery. What you will deliver Deliver place-based regional stakeholder and community engagement, building understanding and acceptance of renewable energy projects and REZs, and maintaining strong relationships with communities, landholders, Traditional Owners and local stakeholders. Support REZ readiness and operationalisation by providing local insights, coordinating community forums and reference groups, and contributing to access scheme processes, assessments and future Victorian Transmission Plans. Identify local issues, needs and values to ensure timely, tailored engagement, and develop high-quality local communication material that promotes the VTIF, Victorian Transmission Plan and community benefits. Collaborate across VicGrid teams to share stakeholder insights, monitor engagement outcomes for continuous improvement What you will bring Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including negotiation and conflict management, with experience on complex projects or working with diverse regional communities highly valued. Proven ability to design and deliver effective community engagement and consultation processes, along with experience creating high-quality communication and promotional materials. Place-based understanding of South West regional communities and economies and experience working respectfully with Traditional Owners in a self-determining manner. Tertiary qualifications in stakeholder engagement, media, or public relations and Certification and/or familiarity with IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation would be highly regarded.
