About the Position This role plays a key part in strengthening how the City manages risk and improves the way we work. As the Risk and Improvement Officer, your primary focus will be supporting the ongoing application of our Risk Management Framework. You’ll work closely with leaders across the organisation to identify, assess and manage key risks, facilitate workshops, provide practical advice, and deliver clear, high-quality reporting to support informed decision-making. Alongside this, you’ll play an important role in driving business improvement. Using insights from risk, audit and performance activities, you’ll support teams to map processes, identify inefficiencies and deliver practical, sustainable improvements across the organisation. This is a blended role combining risk management and business improvement. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to broader organisational improvement initiatives, applying insights from risk activities to drive more efficient and effective ways of working. While experience across both areas is advantageous, support will be provided to build capability in business improvement where needed. This position is offered on a full-time basis; however, part-time arrangements may be considered. About You You’re an experienced professional with a tertiary qualification in risk management, internal audit or a related discipline, and a genuine interest in how organisations can work better. You bring: Strong experience in enterprise risk management or a related discipline Well-developed analytical skills, with the ability to interpret information and draw meaningful insights Confidence engaging with stakeholders and facilitating discussions or workshops Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly Experience in business improvement, process mapping or continuous improvement is highly regarded. Candidates with experience across both risk and improvement will be highly valued; however, a strong foundation in risk management, combined with a willingness to build capability in improvement, is equally important.
