Join a growing engineering consultancy delivering mining and minerals processing projects across Australia and internationally. We are seeking an experienced Senior or Lead Mechanical Designer to join our Perth team, working on a diverse portfolio of projects across gold, lithium, rare earths and other resource sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, from studies and detailed design through to construction support and commissioning. Our office is located in Subiaco, adjacent to the train station, with excellent end-of-trip facilities and a professional working environment. About the Role You will play a key role within a multidisciplinary engineering team delivering mechanical designs for minerals processing plants and associated infrastructure. Depending on experience, the role may include technical leadership, mentoring of designers, coordination of design deliverables and client interface responsibilities. Typical project work includes: Crushing, screening and materials handling systems Process plant layouts and mechanical equipment arrangements Pumping, piping and slurry systems Conveyors, chutes, tanks and fixed plant infrastructure Brownfield and greenfield mining projects Study, feasibility and detailed design work Responsibilities Develop high-quality mechanical layouts, 3D models and detailed design drawings Produce design deliverables for studies, detailed engineering and construction phases Coordinate with mechanical, structural, civil, electrical and process engineering teams Assist with equipment integration, constructability and plant layout optimisation Participate in design reviews, model reviews and interdisciplinary coordination Liaise with clients, vendors and project stakeholders Support junior designers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian and industry standards About You Significant experience in mechanical design within mining, minerals processing or heavy industry Strong understanding of fixed plant and materials handling systems Experience in the Autodesk suite of software including Advance Steel, Plant 3D is highly desirable Experience working across feasibility and detailed design projects Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Strong communication and problem-solving skills What We Offer Permanent or contract engagement options Competitive salary or hourly rates Modern Subiaco office location next to public transport End-of-trip facilities Opportunity to work on technically interesting and diverse mining projects Growing business with genuine opportunity for career progression and leadership If you are looking to work with a practical, collaborative engineering team delivering high-quality mining projects, we would like to hear from you.
