About the role We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Senior Finance Manager to lead the day‑to‑day finance function for our Australian businesses and partner closely with the Australian Finance Director. This is a broad, end‑to‑end finance leadership role suited to someone who enjoys combining people leadership, commercial insight, and strong financial discipline, while remaining close to the detail. You'll take ownership of financial operations across multiple legal entities, ensure robust controls, and provide meaningful commercial support to the business. This role will suit a CA or CPA‑qualified finance professional who has built their career in small to medium‑sized or similarly hands‑on environments and is comfortable pitching in when required - whether that's month‑end journals, payroll queries, or keeping things moving during peak periods. What you'll be doing Financial performance & commercial leadership Owning the production of timely, accurate financial reporting for the Australian business and Group Finance Managing the financial reporting calendar, ensuring deadlines are met and delivery risks or dependencies are clearly communicated Supporting forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis to provide insight into trends, risks, and opportunities Managing commission calculations end‑to‑end, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and on‑time payments Partnering with the Finance Director and leadership team on initiatives to simplify and strengthen the business, including rationalising legal entities and improving finance efficiency Finance operations & control Leading day‑to‑day finance operations across multiple Australian legal entities Ensuring strong financial controls, balance sheet integrity, and audit readiness Overseeing payroll operations (office and candidate), ensuring compliance with local regulations Supporting statutory audits and working with external auditors and tax advisors Remaining hands‑on where required, including month‑end journal entries, reconciliations, and operational problem‑solving Team leadership & capability Leading and developing the finance team, building resilience through cross‑skilling (onshore and offshore where applicable) Reducing single points of failure by embedding strong processes, shared knowledge, and clear ownership Promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and pride in getting the fundamentals right About you This role suits someone who is comfortable leading a finance function in an SME environment balancing people leadership, commercial thinking, and hands‑on delivery. You'll bring: CA or CPA qualification Broad experience across finance operations, reporting, payroll, and compliance Proven experience working across multiple legal entities Strong understanding of financial controls, audits, and balance sheet management Experience leading and developing finance or payroll teams Confidence working with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams A pragmatic, detail‑oriented approach and the ability to manage competing priorities Experience in recruitment, staffing, healthcare, or other services‑based environments is advantageous but not essential.
