Our Financial Services Department is seeking a Senior Rates Officer. Purpose: As part of the larger Revenue Team, this role is responsible for contributing to the efficient timely, and accurate maintenance of specific rating and customer billing management processes, ensuring these are processed according to Council’s policies and the Local Government Act. About the role: Process notices of transfer/sales for properties. Investigate and accurately maintain domestic waste service requests on rates accounts. Assist with the accurate cyclical production and issue of rate, instalment, supplementary and reminder notices, while effectively mitigating the associated risks. Assist with debt recovery of rates including issuing reminders, processing payment arrangements and organising legal action. About you: Completion of a relevant tertiary qualification (e.g Diploma of Accounting, or Cert IV Office Administration) or equivalent rating experience. Demonstrated written communication skills. Experience composing letters, emails, memos and reports about complex matters in a concise and effective manner.
