About the Role We are seeking an experienced Collections Officer to support the timely collection of overdue fees and accommodation bond/RAD payments. This role involves proactive phone outreach, written correspondence, and establishing and managing payment arrangements in line with resident agreements and organisational policies. You will manage accounts within your receivables portfolio, ensure prompt resolution of queries, liaise with external collection agencies, and maintain accurate records. Success in this role requires a strong balance of financial acumen, customer service, and sensitivity when working with residents and their representatives. Reporting to the Team Leader – Credit Control, you will play a key role in supporting Opal’s commitment to high-quality, resident-focused service and continuous improvement. About You You are a proactive and detail-oriented collections professional who thrives in a fast paced, regulated environment. You bring strong communication and negotiation skills, along with a customer focused approach that balances empathy with results. You will bring: Proven experience managing debtor ledgers and collections KPIs Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Excellent prioritisation, time management, and problem-solving ability High accuracy in data entry, reconciliations, and financial records Intermediate Excel and strong systems capability Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism Experience & Qualifications: Essential Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar collections or accounts receivable role Diploma in Accounting Intermediate Excel skills Strong attention to detail and confidentiality Desirable Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance Credit control qualifications or experience Experience working in a regulated environment Knowledge of aged care and relevant legislation (Aged Care Act) What We Offer: At Opal HealthCare, we're all about creating a nurturing work environment that encourages innovation, growth, and camaraderie.
