Business Analyst – Data Retention & Disposal Sydney | 6 Month Contract | Hybrid Working We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a large-scale Data Retention & Disposal program operating across multiple business units. This is a business-led, data-aware, and risk-focused role supporting enterprise initiatives to define retention requirements, safely dispose of over-retained personal data, and embed sustainable BAU processes aligned to regulatory and governance obligations. This role will suit a strong Business Analyst who is confident working across business, risk, privacy, governance, and technology teams in a complex enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities Support delivery of a Data Retention & Disposal program across multiple business units, ensuring a consistent enterprise-wide approach Engage with stakeholders to gather, define, and document business requirements and decision criteria Act as the key liaison between business and technology teams to support solution design and implementation Facilitate workshops with Business Owners, Process Owners, Data Stewards, Privacy, Risk, and Governance stakeholders Produce clear, auditable documentation suitable for executive, regulatory, and risk review Assist with risk-based prioritisation of systems for remediation and automation opportunities Support uplift of BAU processes, governance frameworks, and sustainable controls beyond program completion Define requirements for system remediation activities supporting retention and disposal obligations Identify non-compliance risks and escalate issues where required About You Proven experience as a Business Analyst within large, complex enterprise environments Previous experience within financial services or insurance is essential Strong background across regulatory, governance, privacy, records management, or remediation programs Excellent process mapping and business requirements gathering capability Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across senior business and technical audiences Understanding of data retention principles including lawful purpose, over-retention risk, and defensible disposal Comfortable working in ambiguity and fast-moving program environments Strong written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics clearly and accurately Desirable Experience supporting enterprise data or technology transformation programs Exposure to remediation, risk, compliance, or privacy-led initiatives Tertiary qualification in Business, Technology, or related discipline This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile program where your work will have direct impact across governance, risk, and enterprise data management.
