At its core, it is about helping finance get to the right answer, faster and with greater confidence, by pulling, interrogating and validating complex data across multiple sources. The business operates in an environment with layered trading relationships and multiple system touchpoints, so clean reporting is not always straightforward. That is exactly why this role matters. Role Profile There is a month-end and financial reporting component, but this is not simply a reporting support position. It is a role for someone who can get under the data, understand how it moves through the business, and help finance make sense of it in a practical, commercially useful way. There is also meaningful involvement in promotional and campaign-related analysis, with a particular need to validate outcomes from a finance perspective. Duties will include: Supporting finance through month-end by extracting, validating and reconciling data required for reporting. Pulling large and often complex data sets from multiple sources to support financial reporting and analysis. Investigating data integrity issues, reporting anomalies and mismatches across systems. Assist in validating financial outcomes tied to promotional campaigns and other commercial activity. Tracking information across complex supplier, wholesaler and retailer relationships, ensuring data holds together from a finance perspective. Working closely with finance stakeholders to understand reporting needs and provide reliable, fit-for-purpose outputs. Helping maintain and improve the integrity of the data warehouse and reporting environment. Developing and enhance reporting solutions that improve visibility, reduce manual effort and strengthen decision-making. Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement across reporting and data workflows. Act as a key link between finance and technical teams, translating business needs into practical reporting and systems outcomes. Successful Candidate Profile You are a technically strong Systems Accountant, Finance Systems Analyst or similar professional who understands both data and finance. Advanced SQL capability is essential. You will be genuinely strong in querying, extracting, manipulating and validating large data sets using complex queries You understand the finance lens. You know why month-end matters, how reporting deadlines work, and what finance needs from the data in order to produce accurate outputs. You are comfortable working in environments where data is spread across multiple systems and relationships, and where answers are not always obvious at first glance. You bring a high level of curiosity and rigour to your work. You do not just run reports; you test, challenge, and validate what sits behind them. You are commercially aware and can see the connection between data, reporting accuracy and business performance. You are confident engaging with both finance and technical stakeholders and can operate credibly with each. You enjoy improving things, whether that is reporting logic, data integrity, process efficiency or automation. You must be Sydney-based and hold full Australian working rights.
