Desktop Estimator Milton, Brisbane $95,000 - $115,000 super We are working with a well-established insurance builder with a strong reputation across the market and a consistent flow of work from major insurer panels. Due to continued growth, they are looking to bring in a Desktop Estimator to support their expanding estimating function. This is a full-time permanent opportunity suited to someone who enjoys working through scopes, reports, photos and supporting documentation to produce accurate estimates in a fast-paced insurance repairs environment. You will work closely with supervisors, estimators and project support staff to ensure quotations and project information are completed accurately and within required timeframes. The role: You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing estimates for insurance building claims using documentation provided by field staff and client systems. The position is office-based, with occasional site involvement on more complex matters where needed. Key responsibilities: Prepare desktop estimates and quotations in line with client requirements and internal processes Review and amend site reports, roof reports and causation reports Assess and validate variations, EOL, BAU and event-related claims Identify additional works or missing scope items and flag these for review Check submitted quotations for pricing and documentation accuracy before lodgement Upload quotations and supporting reports through insurer portals within KPI timeframes Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to confirm pricing and scope details Maintain and update SOR items to reflect current rates and market changes Keep job notes, estimate records and supporting documentation up to date across systems Assist with improving estimating workflows and internal processes Attend site where required for higher value or more complex claims What they are looking for: Experience in estimating within insurance building, repairs or construction Strong attention to detail and confidence working through technical information Ability to interpret reports, photos, scopes and supporting construction documentation Sound knowledge of building terminology, repair methodology and estimating principles Comfortable working to deadlines in a KPI-driven environment Strong communication skills and the ability to work across operational teams Experience using estimating software, client portals and job management systems Understanding of SOR pricing, variations and insurance claims processes will be highly regarded Preferred background: Trade qualification and/or Certificate IV in Building & Construction Experience in insurance repairs, restoration or construction estimating Current unrestricted driver's licence White Card, Working at Heights or First Aid tickets will be viewed favourably What's on offer Permanent full-time position Salary package between $95,000 and $115,000 super, depending on experience Long-term career opportunity with a stable pipeline of work Supportive team environment and genuine progression prospects Modern Milton office location Extra staff benefits including birthday leave, gym and health fund discounts, and novated leasing options Apply now If you have estimating experience in insurance building or a related construction environment and want to join a growing business with a strong reputation in the market, apply with your updated CV and cover letter.
