The Opportunity As a Waste Administration and Finance Officer at the City of Perth, you will autonomously perform project, financial management and administrative duties for the Waste and Cleaning team, while consistently delivering high-quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. The position will primarily liaise with internal stakeholders and respond effectively to external stakeholder enquiries and complaints within agreed customer service level targets. Providing advice to internal and external stakeholders on relevant policies and procedures, as well as participating in the ongoing review and improvement of systems and processes, will also form a significant part of the role. Reporting to the Waste Transformation Specialist within our Operations team, your responsibilities would primarily include: Provide autonomous administrative, project and reporting support to the Waste and Cleaning team, including correspondence management, data capture, meeting coordination and documentation standardisation; Support the delivery of waste and cleaning initiatives by assisting with projects, community programs, implementation of the City’s Waste Plan, and continuous improvement of systems and procedures; Manage financial administration activities, including purchase orders, invoice reconciliation, budget monitoring, financial reporting and liaison with contractors and stakeholders; and Uphold organisational, customer service and WHS responsibilities by ensuring compliant work practices, accurate recordkeeping, and alignment with the City’s Customer Service Charter, policies and legislative requirements. To Succeed In This Role, You Will Possess Demonstrated experience in researching, analysing, summarising and actioning administrative and financial matters, with strong initiative and problem-solving capability; Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce moderately complex correspondence, reports, publications and presentations; Proven ability to work autonomously, effectively organise and adapt workload, and meet deadlines while managing competing priorities; and Advanced Excel capability and strong general IT skills, including data analysis, complex formulas, pivot tables, data visualisation, and use of a range of office software, combined with excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills for managing challenging customer interactions.
