About the Business Unit: Ministerial Services is responsible for, among other things, statutory appointments, the coordination of Cabinet and Committees, Parliament and legislation, coordination of DJCS entity annual reports, and departmental liaison staff in Ministerial Offices. About the Role: The Adviser position is varied and will at times lead the coordination of Parliamentary Matters, Annual Report business. The Adviser will also be across the development of products for Cabinet, Committees, and the Legislation Program to ensure timely deliverables for ministerial offices, deputy secretaries and the Secretary. They will provide whole of department coordination and strategic advice on authoritative briefs, discussion papers and reports for the departments ministers and other senior departmental officers on highly complex, sensitive, and emerging issues within demanding timeframes. Some of your duties will include: Overseeing the coordination of Parliamentary business, including the tabling of documents and Government responses Providing authoritative advice and specialist administrative and corporate support across the department on Cabinet and Committee processes and procedures Working in close partnership with policy and operational areas across DJCS, and with other government departments to inform holistic advice, with a whole of department/justice view. About You: As our ideal candidate, you will possess: Understanding of Parliamentary, Cabinet and Committee and legislative processes, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in restrictive timeframes Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office applications and TRIM Demonstrated ability to manage projects and coordinate amongst different stakeholders Understanding of the business and processes of government, or other complex administrative processes, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
