Digital Product Owner Location: Melbourne or Sydney Employment Type: Permanent Salary: $160k-$180k super We’re partnering with a leading global insurance organisation to recruit a Digital Product Owner to support a major transformation programme across their consumer insurance portfolio. This is a high-impact role sitting within a key customer-focused domain, with ownership of a digital product end-to-end. You’ll play a critical role in shaping how customers engage with insurance products, working closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. About the Role As Digital Product Owner, you will take full ownership of a key product within the organisation’s digital ecosystem - from defining vision and roadmap through to delivery, launch, and ongoing optimisation. You’ll work closely with your squad, stakeholders, and leadership team to deliver seamless, customer-centric experiences, with a strong focus on data, automation, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Own the product end-to-end, including vision, roadmap, delivery, and performance Define and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs Translate requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria Work closely with engineering, design, and delivery teams in an Agile environment Collaborate with stakeholders across technology, legal, compliance, and business teams Drive data-led decision making, defining success metrics and using insights to optimise performance Champion automation and straight-through processing to improve customer experience and efficiency Navigate a complex, regulated environment while ensuring strong governance and risk alignment Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Product Owner with end-to-end ownership of digital products Strong track record delivering customer-facing digital solutions (web, mobile, or platforms) Data-driven mindset, with experience defining metrics and using insights to guide decisions Strong prioritisation skills, with the ability to make clear, confident decisions Solid technical understanding across SDLC, Agile delivery, and solution design Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across multiple teams Strong communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical audiences Nice to Have Experience within insurance or another regulated industry Exposure to consumer-facing products or direct distribution models Experience working in large, global organisations Familiarity with AI tools, digital experimentation, or emerging technologies
