About the role: Road Policing is responsible for road safety across Victoria. The centralised specialist resources of Enforcement, Strategy, Operations and Investigations, and Projects Divisions provide state-wide support to the regions to achieve desired road safety outcomes. Road Policing also works with government and key road safety partners, including the Department of Transport, Department of Justice & Community Safety, and the Transport Accident Commission to develop strategic policy and pursue legislative reform. The Operations and Tasking Coordinator / Team Leader position is based in the Road Policing Strategic Programs unit of Road Policing. We are currently seeking a capable Operations and Tasking Coordinator/Team Leader to join our team and provide operational tasking support and coordination. The position will provide operational tasking support and coordination across specialist projects, including road policing enforcement activities undertaken by Police members across the state. In addition, the position is responsible for two VPS3 Finance Officer positions reporting to it. This role is critical to ensuring programs are delivered effectively and efficiently, and service delivery units and Police members are provided with the necessary information to ensure activities undertaken are aligned to the objectives of the respective program. Using your analytical skills and experience you will support the Strategic Program Units in the extensive planning and preparation for program activities. Your stakeholder engagement and communication skills will be utilised to engage with the units and Police members delivering activities, and your administration expertise with gather operational outcomes for preparation of reports and briefings to Management. This position will report directly to the Strategic Programs Manager, and subsequently to the Superintendent in charge of the Road Policing Strategy Division. An induction program and full training of the role and position requirements will assist the successful applicant to confidently carry out their position duties. Your duties will include: The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: Overseeing a small team that is responsible for supporting the financial administration of programs; Preparation of information and assisting with the coordination and planning for operational shift deployment Liaising with Police members and public servants in Road Policing and Regional units for service delivery planning, and deployment Researching and conducting analysis on service delivery outcomes; Collecting, collating and evaluating information to produce high quality reports to assist management; and Conducting audits on activities, systems and processes to deliver program objectives, and with a view to improve business. About You: The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: Demonstrated experience managing and leading a small team; Relevant experience in tasking, coordination, rostering or logistical operations; Well-developed analytical, research and written communication skills; Demonstrated experience in building and sustaining productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders internal and external, including the ability to cooperatively work with a range of stakeholders, negotiate the resolution of administrative issues, and contribute and cooperate to achieve positive workplace outcomes; Ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders; Demonstrated administration and reporting experience and capability, including the ability to achieve objectives within tight timeframes, and actively engage stakeholders to support delivery within those timeframes; Well-developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with both internal and external key stakeholders; Experience in using IT applications and data-bases such as the Microsoft Office suite Ability to work by direction as well as autonomously on your own initiative and be self-motivated and driven; and Ability to effectively operate in a dynamic and diverse working environment. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain comprehensive and accurate corporate records, documents, and reporting Demonstrated capacity to plan and prioritise work to ensure outcomes are achieved.
